Working internal deployment

Engineering Command Center — Network Operations

Network engineering tools that bring topology, switch ports, wireless visibility, configuration drift, and backups into a consistent operational workflow.

Challenge

Turn a collection of network consoles and configuration records into a clear picture of connectivity, health, and operational change.

Constraints

The tools operate against a live network. Visibility must remain distinct from write authority, and configuration changes require preview, approval, backup, and verification.

System

A Python command-line tool gathers controller data and compares live configuration with declared desired state. A read-only local dashboard presents topology, switch-port and link-speed details, clients, health checks, and configuration drift.

Magneum’s contribution

Developed network inventory and diagnostics, topology and documentation generation, snapshot comparison, configuration review, and guarded change workflows.

Verification

Recorded live checks exercised the onboarding scan against actual devices and wired and wireless clients, identifying link-speed conditions and available controller backups. Scheduled backup runs have also succeeded in the deployed environment.

Outcome

A working network operations foundation combines discovery, diagnostics, configuration review, and backup history, with generated documentation tied to source data.

Limitations

The deployment remains an internal operational environment. Network segmentation rollout is incomplete; the dashboard intentionally remains read-only, and configuration changes require separate approval.
